labeling of home use videosRobin,
We have been collecting "home use" videos for many years. Our accession =
type numbering system makes it easy to distinguish these titles. We add =
a capital letter suffix to the number - R for restricted. We also affix =
a bright red, self-adhesive, custom label to the edge of the cassette or =
outside of the DVD case that states "No public performance license. For =
face-to-face teaching only." Our on-line catalog entries for these =
titles include a 500 note with the same statement. This link should take =
you to our entry for The Lion in Winter (long record). We are always =
happy to respond when faculty and students still ask for clarification =
about what constitutes face-to-face teaching.

Subject: [Videolib] labeling of home use videos
Hi all,=20
We are just starting to add more "home use only videos" to our =
collection and wondered about language and labeling others might be =
using (if any) for these in academic libraries. Do you label the videos =
themselves with any special wording so that faculty and students know =
they are home use only videos (vs. PPR) and understand how they can be =
viewed/shown? Do you have wording in your online catalog? =20
Any examples would be appreciated.=20
Thank much,=20

It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.----- Original Message -----From:=20 Feinland,=20 RobinSent: Wednesday, August 30, = 2006 3:56=20 PMSubject: [Videolib] labeling of = home use=20 videosHi all,
