Hello everyone,
I know this is a really long shot, but I've already spent a lot of
time searching fruitlessly, so I'm hoping someone can give me a clue.

A professor has asked me to find a videotape or DVD of a 1977 BBC
production. It was an episode called "The Country Wife" in the
long-running series "Play of the Month." It was a performance of the
play, "The Country Wife" (or A Country Wife), written by William
Wycherley, who lived from 1640 to 1716. Helen Mirren was one of the actors.

I've found that Insight Media offers a DVD of this same play, but
that isn't the one this professor wants. Does anyone know whether
there's any such thing as a recording of the 1977 BBC program? Or
perhaps another version that contains the entire play, not just
excerpts or an abridged script? It would probably be nearly 2 hours long.

Oh, and he wants it by September 10th!

Thanks in advance for any information you can give me, even if you
have to say, "ABSOLUTELY NOT".

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
