Here at Cal State LA we do purchase PAL DVDs if specifically requested
by a faculty member who is going to use it for a class or research.
Multi-region DVD players are cheap, so we purchased several of them for
use in our media carrels. We encourage the faculty member to put PAL
DVDs on reserve so the students can view them on our equipment. I think
that a few of our departments have also purchased multi-region players
for use in the classroom.
