Here at Cal State LA we do purchase PAL DVDs if specifically requested
by a faculty member who is going to use it for a class or research.
Multi-region DVD players are cheap, so we purchased several of them for
use in our media carrels. We encourage the faculty member to put PAL
DVDs on reserve so the students can view them on our equipment. I think
that a few of our departments have also purchased multi-region players
for use in the classroom.

------_=_NextPart_001_01C6C163.3387AE5E-- VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
