I don't think there is much dialog in Red Balloon, but I can't recall
for certain (and I just watched it last year!). =20

What about one of those Pixar shorts (I think they are Pixar) that they
show at the beginning of their films or are added on to the DVDs. I
think I remember one about a snow man in a snow globe trying to get out,
another about an old guy playing chess with himself and the old one with
the two desk lamps. There are probably others. They have no dialog.

Subject: [Videolib] short film with no dialog

"I want to do an in class experiment/demonstration on cultural
differences in storytelling. For this purpose I need a very short film
that has no words (but not an old silent film with subtitles) that I can
show to the class and have them then write down an account of what
happened in the film."

Interesting request from a prof. Any suggestions? It's been too long
since I've seen it, but doesn't "Red Balloon" have no dialog?

Thanks,

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
