Dear Videolib Listserve:

We asked the listserve for suggestions on film titles for our Human
Rights Video Project a few years back and would like to ask for your
help again.

National Video Resources is curating its latest viewing and discussion
project funded by the NEH entitled LOOKING AT: JAZZ
(www.lookingatjazz.com). We would like to solicit suggestions from the
members of the listserve. What are the best documentaires under the
subjects listed below?

1. New Orleans: The Birthplace of Jazz
2. The Jazz Age and the 1920s
3. The Jazz Swing Era
4. The Women of Jazz
5. Jazz Innovators: From Bebop, to Hard Bop, to Cool and More.
6. Latin Jazz

It would be helpful to suggest films that are availble in DVD format and
with public performance rights. NVR will negotiate with distributors to
pay for rights associated with the films for any titles included in the
program. Feel free to email me directly if you have any questions.

Thank you all for your help!!

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
