Hi everyone,
I'm putting together a "prison flicks" theme for Fall quarter, and have
the following titles so far; other suggestions? (some inexpensive
foreign ones would be great!)
American History X
Shawshank Redemption
Brute Force (which doesn't seem to be available :-( )
O Brother Where Art Thou
Assault on Precinct 13 (the more recent one, although may purchase the
John Carpenter one)
Escape from Alcatraz
Birdman of Alcatraz
Brubaker
Escape from New York
Fortress
The Hurricane (the Denzel Washington one)
In the Name of the Father
The Last Castle
Mutiny in the Big House
No Escape
The Green Mile
Please note that I'm staying to films that have action predominantly
placed *in* the prison for most of the movie, and am leaving out movies
that have characters that have left or escaped prison, where the action
continues elsewhere. Except for "O Brother". Which is one of my faves,
so it's in. Nyah. :-P

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
