We use ones from http://www.videostoreshopper.com/ made for CDs, and
we haven't had any problems. Note they are balanced to help prevent
spinning problems.

If you are talking about placing regular tattle tape (not made for
CDs/DVDs), I wouldn't recommend doing do, and it is very difficult to
balance them properly, which causes imbalances in spinning.

We haven't had any complaints that can be traced to the security we use.
