you asked:

>Does anyone know if/how Audible.com works with libraries?

well they wouldn't consider working with me when I explored this
about nine months ago, but if anyone has had better success, I'd love
to hear about it. We did not want to lend players, and could not
justify individual subscriptions for each cardholder in our 25K
community <vbfg> - those seemed to be the only options open to us.
We went with the NetLibrary/Recorded Books product which is highly
flawed (iPods will never work, I fear) but allows us to provide a
large number of patrons access to a nicely rounded selection of
audiobooks.
