There is a terrific Russian/Soviet film adaptation of Hamlet by
Kozintsev (music by Shostakovich) done in 1965. It is just recently
released on DVD (through Ruscico) with English Subtitles.

Are you looking for filmed adaptations of Hamlet, or filmed plays? For
filmed plays, the Time/Life - BBC production of Hamlet from Ambrose
Video is excellent. For film, there is the 1948 version with Lawrence
Olivier, and the 1990 Zefferelli version with Mel Gibson. Hope this

a source for video titles on book publishing--ideally, that show
editorial meetings, marketing meetings, the inside of a bindery,
etc--produced within the past 10 years. Also, does anyone have
recommendations for the best screen adaptations of Hamlet? thanks for
any ideas!
