We house our DVDs behind the circ desk in thin plastic clamshell cases
in alpha order and the empty cases are on open shelves. We suffered a
loss of 1/3 of our collection early on and they were in Kwik cases -
police told us they are easy to smash open. Haven't lost any to theft
since we moved the discs to the desk but the system is very time
consuming. We just moved our non-fiction back to the cases (which are
directly across from the circ desk). We'll see how it goes. With over
2,000 DVDs in our collection, space is at a premium. We have just
purchased a large media storage unit from Demco as we have outgrown our
small plastic stacking drawers. Now if only they were more durable...
