Stick with the donuts. If you put any thing else on your disc it will knock them off balance so they won't spin properly in the machines and half your patrons will bring them back saying they won't read.

Hi-
(preface: I'm still fairly new to my position, so if this is a dumb
question, please forgive me...)

Do people have good suggestions for types of labels that are good for
CDs? We'd like to start putting the call number directly on our CDs so
that we can match it with the case. Currently we use labels that go
around the "donut hole" and hand write the call number but we'd like to
explore getting, for example, square ones that we can perhaps print
(from a printer) on and put right on the top of the CD itself - ones
that will stick well and not be too heavy. If you have good suggestions
of labels that have worked for you, please let me know.
