Could it be Abel Ferrara's "Bad Lieutenant" starring Harvey Keitel?
I don't recall if he dies in the last scene, but it's quite dramatic.

Hi everyone!

We have a patron looking for a movie containing the following plot:

A police officer (detective?) gone bad.....does alot of drugs and gets shot and killed by police in the ending scene

It is not the "Corrupt Lieutenant"

Any ideas?
