Dear John,

That's not a strange question at all. If it's paper about the making of the
movies or anything else involved with his work, it's a very important
collection. There are a numerous archives that would love that kind of material and
there are strengths to each one. Since you're on the west coast (and I like to
keep collections "local"), then the best would be the Academy of Motion Picture
Arts and Sciences' Margaret Herrick Library in terms of access and future use
they would get. UCLA Film & Television Archives is also a favorite. If you
need contact names and numbers, just email or give me a call and I can find out
who's the best person there to talk to. They should also get good advice about
what they need to know in terms of financial and technical matters when
donating to archives.
