[Videolib] thank you, and School for Scanning

Thank you to everyone who responded to my question about circulating our video collection to students. Response was overwhelmingly positive, so I will write up a proposal, and hopefully we can start doing this next year. I really appreciate all the practical tips, like using fines, but not relying solely on them, keeping the checkout time fairly short, and ways of making sure faculty have access to titles they need for class, using an inhouse reserve system. I'm going to go for it!

Another question: has anyone attended the School for Scanning: Building Good Digital Collections conference presented by the Northeast Document Conservation Center in Boston? It is a 3 day workshop on management of digital collections and projects, which is of great interest to me, but it is expensive ($410) and my school won't pay for me to go, so . . .I want to be sure it is worth it before I foot the bill myself.
Thanks again--this list is a lifesaver for me!
Maureen
