Thanks to everyone who's responded to this question.

I AM going to buy some on DVD where it seems appropriate and recommend
that my audiobooks colleague buy some, too.

Hello all,
I was the one who reviewed them for Randy. I have been quite favorably
impressed with them. Ours circulate as well as the public library's,
usually to students who are having trouble with a class, motivated HS
students who want to challenge a class, or people who are life long
learners who prefer to learn this way without tuition, fees, or
deadlines. I did and do promote them and whenever we get a new one I
fire off an email to the faculty of that department who have loved what
they have seen so far. Buy a couple of titles and try them out.
