We recently switched our music collections from accession numbers to ANSCR to provide browseable access. LC was rejected because of the problem of all popular music being lumped together within the same call number (rather like feature films...)

What do the ANSCR-hating people dislike about it? Is there an actual problem with the system, or do they just not like it because it's different from the rest of the library? What do they think would be a better system? Do they understand the problems with Dewey and LC for non-book materials?

Good luck,
