We had a similar problem with some feature films, Chicken Run being the
latest, where there is a "thin" place or a unusual swirl patterns in the
coded material. It will play great and suddenly stop or won't even read
on some machines. It is clearly a manufacturing defect.

Hello Video-lib folks,

A question for those who have purchased A Day Without a Mexican on
dvd...
Our procedure is to inspect all incoming media before adding them to
the
collection. We have run into a problem with not one, not two, but
THREE
dvd copies of this title. At appx. 25 seconds on the English language

portion of the dvd, it freezes on some of our machines. Our first two

dvds were purchased through one vendor, and we assumed that there may
have
been a 'bad batch'. These both looked scuffed and damaged upon
arrival.
So we ordered another copy through a different vendor. This dvd looks
a
bit better, but still has a strange looking blotchy pattern on it.
And,
there is still the playability issue. Has anyone else noticed this in

their copies?

I've found the following statement from Xenon Pictures about a known
problem with the closed captions, but this is not what we're
experiencing:

Thanks in advance,
