We had a similar problem with some feature films, Chicken Run being the
latest, where there is a "thin" place or a unusual swirl patterns in the
coded material. It will play great and suddenly stop or won't even read
on some machines. It is clearly a manufacturing defect.

So we ordered another copy through a different vendor. This dvd looks
bit better, but still has a strange looking blotchy pattern on it.
there is still the playability issue. Has anyone else noticed this in

their copies?

I've found the following statement from Xenon Pictures about a known
problem with the closed captions, but this is not what we're

Thanks in advance,
