[Videolib] Untold Stories: Creative Consequences of the Rights

The Untold Stories study was undertaken by two American University faculty
members, Pat Aufderheide and Peter Jaszi. They interviewed dozens of
independent filmmakers about their problems acquiring rights to footage and
music needed for their films. People such as Gordon Quinn, John Else, Aviva
Kempner, Ross McElwee, and Kevin Rafferty. The report, the video, and

The video, directed by Brigid Maher, is also available for free on DVD. If

It is a worthy addition for anyone who ever wondered why one of the most
heavily circulated series, The Eyes on the Prize, is no longer commercially
available.
