I contacted Column Productions around licensing "Submission" for Link TV. We=
=20
spoke on the phone and I explained how Link would do justice to the program,=
=20
especially in light of Van Gogh=E2=80=99s murder. They said no to the reques=
t and the=20
following paragraph that they sent to me sheds some light on their reasoning=
=20
and might at least help the person or people trying to get access to the=20
program:

"Last summer, Submission was made not as a film per se, but as a statement i=
n
a three hour special tv portrait of Ayaan Hirsi Ali and her viewpoints. When
Submission is shown out of that context, especially in the present media
attention surrounding the murder of Theo van Gogh and the problems with
muslim extremism, the statement will completely miss its goal =E2=80=93 in t=
hat
case, Submission would just be a provocation instead of what the film was
meant to do: entice discussion about a crucial problem in the Islamic world,
the mistreatment of women.

Best regards,

Column Productions=E2=80=9D

Feel free to contact me if I can help with the search and I would indeed lik=
e=20
to hear about any news of Submission ever becoming available.
