Folks,

Thanks for all of your online/offline comments about Insight Media. I will
pass your observations along to the library liasions here.

The instructor in question would like any info on the following 2 titles
(quality, appropriateness, etc.)

Central Asia [2004: no producer unfo.; dist. by INSIGHT MEDIA] -- Offering
stock footage of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Khiva, Bukhara,
Tashkent, Fergana Valley, Samarkand, Ashgabat, Merv, and Konye-Urgench, this
collection features the geography and people of central Asia. It includes
footage of mosques, medrassas, markets, landscapes, camels, and agriculture.
(how obtuse can you get??)

The Caribbean: Islands of Eden [1992: Produced by Trailwood Productions,
Inc.; dist. by INSIGHT MEDIA, CHIP TAYLOR] -- History and culture abound
in this documentary that begins with visits to all the most-visited sights
in St. Thomas, St. John's, Virgin Gorda, St. Croix, St. Martin/San Martine,
St. Barts, Saba, St. Kitts, Martinique and Barbados. Also, in Grenada, we
meet native fisherman, learn of holiday celebrations, see native boat
building, attend market, survive a tropical storm, and then experience
"Carnival" in Trinidad. In whole, we discover why these Caribbean gems are
called the "Islands of Eden." Produced by Trailwood Productions, Inc.

In addition, perhaps someone out there could suggest a few titles or
distributors of quality geography videos. This is a first request for this
subject (and the librarian handling this subject area is new) so any help
would be greatly appreciated.

And to top off your Friday let me say this:

YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!

Muchas gracias!!
