Dear Marc,

WARNING: Maybe a helpful response. At least in New York, many libraries get
funding for their film series through the New York State Council of the Arts as
well as local funding. It might be the same in Missouri, though I can't think
of many state that supports the arts like New York (it almost would make me
vote for George Pataki if I still lived in the state). One thing -- several
libraries I know get funding from their patrons. See if there are any wealthy
patrons who like film. (For example, one library in upstate New York knew that
one of their patrons owned the local Toyota dealership and he was an instant
