The University of Wyoming Libraries is seeking applicants for a Head of
Access Services position.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee operations and work flow of Access Services,
including circulation, interlibrary loan, media services, traditional
and electronic reserves, stack management, and the mailroom. Directly
supervise three unit managers that oversee 10 FTE staff and 40 part time
student workers. Articulate circulation and interlibrary loan policies
and procedures to students, staff and the public. Coordinate with other
campus units concerning access service polices and procedures. Establish
goals and priorities for access service functions and develop strategic
plans. Chair Access Services Managers workgroup. Provide leadership and
direction to the heads and staff in the branch libraries (Science,
Brinkerhoff Geology, and Learning Resources Center) to assure uniformity
in Access Service polices and procedures. Provide leadership for library
copyright compliance. As a member of the library faculty, pursue an
active and ongoing program of professional development, research, and
service. Report to the Associate Dean. =20

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: MLS from an ALA accredited institution. Minimum
of three years of successful progressively responsible professional
experience. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a manager,
including budget and personnel management. Excellent interpersonal,
problem solving and organizational skills. Ability to enforce library
policies while maintaining a positive public image. Ability to set
objectives and priorities, and engage in long-ranging planning for the
department. Ability to oversee multiple and diverse operations in a
rapidly changing environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with integrated library systems,
preferably Voyager. Experience managing automated circulation systems
and creating reports. Knowledge and experience with emerging
technologies and trends in circulation, interlibrary loan, traditional
and electronic reserves, and document delivery.=20

30th, 2004. The minimum salary is $48,000, dependent on qualifications
and experience; 12-month appointment, 22 days vacation; sick leave,
group health insurance, state and TIAA-CREF retirement plans, no state
