[Videolib] Television series in public libraries

For those public libraries that collect television series:
How are you handling the surge of TV series being released on DVD?

In the past we purchased many TV series for our collection. This wasn't a problem when there weren't so many available. Now, it seems that every show ever made is coming out on DVD. We get far too many patron requests to fill, so I've started only buying premium cable, a few basic cable, and some PBS and BBC shows.

I'd be interested in hearing how other libraries handle the TV show issue.

Thanks.
