Whatever happened to academic freedom? Why do we have to run scared--Well,
we don't. We have to stand our ground on these key freedom of speech issues. The
60's and 70's porno movies, while trashy and gross, have historical and cultural
significance, especially in light of web pornography. It is up to us argue this point,
among many others, to those who seek to interfere with our teaching methods.

I imagine, with the rare exception, many of the librarians who would
verbally support this would privately avoid doing it themselves. Obviously
it could lead to a firestorm were it to happen in the wrong community.
