Hi-
Our library has been very liberal about loaning out DVDs and
videos--going with an "as needed" basis. Since we don't have a media
librarian watching out for the collection--most are available on ILL.
We keep stuff for classes on reserve, so it can only leave the library
for classroom screenings, but otherwise our entire collection circulates
to faculty/staff/students/anyone with a borrower's card. I've heard
rumblings that this is being reconsidered--because there are some
smaller colleges nearby that seem to be borrowing the same titles over
and over again--but I doubt we could actually stop altogether being a
public institution at a state committed to open access.
