Just wondering if any of you have been approached by a company called cflix
( this would be Universities only). It is new company kind of like MPLC
but for Universities. According to their web site they have deals with a
number of major studios for downloading of films for entertainment purposes
based on fixed price fees BUT they are also promising material for
classroom use and APPEAR to be telling people that as it is for classroom
use they can digitize & download ANY FILM. I am trying to pin this down
and if any small distributors out there want to contact me , feel free but
again it APPEARS that this company is saying they can digitize ANY film for
classroom use and I think this is an issue we all need to be concerned
about.

As we have discussed before since classrooms would generally need films &
materials from literally HUNDREDS of companies there is no way one company
could promise to provide it all and unless someone wants to tell a professor
that he can't show Chaplin or Goddard films and only those from say WB
& Universal , this is not practical UNLESS they are illegally using material
of companies from which they have no permission. Not sure what they are
doing but would appreciate feed back
