Technical "Is it possible?" question that I thought maybe you wise ones
may have already investigated...

Is it possible to convert a VHS tape into a DVD without the use of a
computer? =20
I thought there was a VCR-DVD Recorder combo unit available, but I'm not
finding one. (Pressure from movie companies?)

We have a digital editing system and a digital/analog convertor box so
we know how to do it through the computer. But it can be really slow.
It seems to me that a DVD Recorder connected to a VCR via a convertor
box would work (but I don't think Best Buy will let me start plugging
things in at the store).

Before anyone gets excited about copyright, I'm not trying to duplicate
Casablanca. This question came up while dealing with videos of last
spring's Commencement ceremony. (Our thought was "Why don't they use a
digital camcorder?" but that's another story.)
