Hi, Mike. We still purchase a lot of A&E videos, although I have heard from
our Quality and Unique sales reps that other libraries have cut down on the
A&E titles. That they have generic covers is a pain in the neck, although I
can understand the cost reasoning. We do new covers on the word processor -
put on some fancy graphic (either from an unspecified web site, or the word
processing program), put on the production information, and cut and paste an
annotation from FirstSearch. Actually, they don't look too bad, since the
word processing is done on a template. It's just a lot of extra work to
make something 1) look attractive, and 2) provide information on the
pertinant title so that the patron doesn't have to run to the computer to
check the catalog for the title information.
