Good guess, but I believe Thomkins Square Park, in the East Village, was
infamously known as "Needle Park" and where that movie's panic took place.

The only one that comes to mind right now is an oldie (and dark
film)...Panic in Needle Park with Al Pacino. I'm pretty sure that took
place in Central Park. I'll try to think of some more.

Didn't a lot of the Charles Bronson films feature Central Park?
