BROTHERS & OTHERS: The Impact of September 11th on Arabs, Muslims and South East Asians in America
Directed by Nicolas Rossier / 60 minutes / 2002 / USA / In English

BROTHERS & OTHERS is a one-hour video documentary that follows a number of immigrant and American families as they struggle under the heightened climate of suspicion, FBI and INS investigations and economic hardship that erupted in the United States following the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11th, 2001. In interviews with Arab and Muslim immigrants, government representatives and a select group of legal and historical experts, this film explores how America's fear of terrorism has negatively impacted a substantial portion of the American population.
Directed by Nicolas Rossier. Produced by Baraka Productions, NYC. Participants in the film include: Muslim Chaplain Ms. Sanaa Nadim; author and professor Noam Chomsky; ACLU attorney Lucas Guttentag; Al-Haaj Ghazi Y. Khankan, Executive Director NY Council on American-Islamic Relations; House Representative Tom Tancredo; James Zogby, President Arab American Institute; Adam Carroll, ICNA and others.

"As we wage a war against global terrorism and extremists in our midst, BROTHERS & OTHERS is a powerful documentary about the 'hidden' victims of 9/11, the thousands of Arabs and Muslims who have been detained without trial and many of those whose lives have been shattered. It reminds us of the need to balance our desire for security with an equal concern for the rule of law and civil liberties, which make America the great nation that it is."
