Here at Tennessee Tech we have closed stacks, but unless an item has been
placed on reserve, everything circulates through the OPAC. Faculty bookings
can be done via the phone or through the departmental web page. We have PDF
subject files available on the departmental web page[created through our
departmental Filemaker Pro database.] I'm not sure why the Filemaker
Database was created since it is a duplication of the online catalog. We
also have paper copies of these files in the department. These are heavily
used. Our collection supports the education mission of the university, but
our feature films are also very heavily used by our international students.
Where there is no price advantage, I continue to purchased VHS tapes. Our
DVDs have had some rough experiences in outside world.
