There was an article about The Film Movement in The New York Times about a=20
month ago and with any new idea or concept, it will be fascinating to follow=
=20
its future. One thing I can say, their projections for the number of=20
subscribers to their service was wildly optimistic. However, Richard Pe=F1a'=
s=20
participation is a good sign.

There is a long list of terms and conditions on their website, but there's=20
nothing I can see about the public performance rights. There is a button on=20
the bottom of the page with a "Contact Us" and you might want to send them a=
n=20
email with that question.

With any new distributor, the older companies usually ask:
1) Where did they get all the money to start this?
2) How is this different from the films we've been distributing for years?
3) What films are we going to lose to them?
4) Is it going to fail like the person's last company and what happens to th=
e=20
films?

Much of this is based on jealousy, but it's also based on seeing other=20
distributors who come and go -- and as startups getting tons of publicity fo=
r=20
what Kino, Zeitgeist, New Yorker, Janus and others have been doing for so=20
long.
