I have a similar problem. Not that I receive double messages but I have an e-mail address and a business card e-mail address (example: firstname.lastname@example.org >email@example.com). Both are the same address but every once in a while, when I attempt to respond or ask questions to the listserv, I am rejected. And sometimes it goes through without a hitch. I assume that this has to do with whether or not it recognizes the e-mail address but for the record it's the same mail account. I have not signed up for the listserv from both addresses but it's possible that I might get double messages if that were the case.
