Hi Everyone,

We are soon to begin a large project of cataloging all of our titles with
the library holdings. In the past we have used a simple form of cataloging
with FileMaker Pro - assigning our own numbers. Here at Carleton, Media
Services, (film collection) is not part of the library, but eventually it
will be. I will be working and training with our Bibiographic Records
librarian. She has some questions that the responses will be of great
help in determining how we will proceed:

All formats (DVD, laserdisk, VHS, 16mm)

*How do you classify them (LC, accessions number?)

*How do you label (call number label, title label?) and where do you
put the label (s)

*Do you label the case and the tape (or other formats)

*Do you note the format on the label

*Do you have any other identifying information of the film, such as
your
institution name, etc.

The more responses the better! Thanks in advance.

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Pamela Bruce
