660 Peachtree Street, NE, Midtown Atlanta [across from the Georgian
Terrace Hotel]

The evening begins with food, music, & culture: 5:00 - 7:00

historic landmark." Enjoy a festive hors d'oeuvres buffet in the Grand
Salon & on the Outdoor Terrace. Cash bar - but your 1st wine, beer, or
soft drink is on the house! Shmooze with your friends & with members of
the Atlanta film community.

"Searching for the Reel South" 7:00 - 8:00
Did you know that Atlanta is the world's first city where projected
motion pictures were shown?
Did you know two Academy Award winning films were set and/or shot in
Atlanta?
Have you wondered if there is a movie "southern" genre like the
western?
What makes a movie southern in the first place, locale aside? Is an
accent good enough?
What has Georgia, and more specifically Atlanta contributed to our
national film culture?
What support exists in Atlanta for independent filmmakers?
Join filmmaker Gary Moss and film historian Matthew Bernstein in an
informal discussion of these questions, as they talk about the South,
Georgia and Atlanta more specifically, in films.

Door prizes galore: 8:00 - 9:00
The evening concludes with door prize drawings. These have been
generously donated by a multitude of video product vendors, our friendly
sponsors!
