This one-day session will be held Thursday, May 23, 2002 at the University
of Kentucky, Lexington, KY from 9am - 4pm.
This session will concentrate on the principles and practices of managing
equipment-dependent magnetic media, motion picture film, and mechanical
sound recording collections. Topics include: preservation activities for
sight and sound recordings, appraisal considerations, and guidelines for
care, handling, and storage. Attendees are invited to bring in equipment
and/or recording media for discussion and identification during the session.
Instructor of the session is Alan Lewis, Audiovisual Preservation Expert in
the Special Media Archives Services Division, National Archives and Records
Cost for $95 SOLINET members, all membership categories, ($85 early bird,
$120 late registration); $135 Non-SOLINET members ($125 early bird, $160
