Howdy everyone,

Question:
How is it that Public Libraries are able to make their
video collections available for "rental" to the
community?

Answer:
Rationalization. By charging a rental fee, public
libraries are charging twice for the same information.
(taxes and a "rental" fee)

I work for one of the largest public library systems
(The New York Public Library) and although there is
the usual print bias and format discrimination that
are common in the library world we don't have this
bogus policy. (If this isn't a bogus policy, I'd like
to know what library uses this policy of "rental fees"
for books?)
