I've just come from a copyright presentation to theatre students. Beckett
was used as an example of invoking copyright to prevent a performance of
his work, of which he did not approve. The problem was the all female
cast. "If I had wanted women in the roles, I would have written it that
way," he said.
Just a bit of trivia.
