In general terms I would remind everyone to be VERY careful about foreign
language feature films from "special sources" Basically if places like
Facets and Baker & Taylor don't carry the odds are about 100 to 1 that it is
NOT legally available in the US ( there are exceptions). Remember that well
less than 1% of foreign films are ever released here and even many that are
released are not put out on VHS or DVD. There are a number of unscrupulous
companies which sell pirated copies of foreign films, usually dubbed from a
British PAL copy. Again generally speaking any tape that comes in a plain
box with no complete return address or copyright notice or ones that come in
boxes with xeroxed covers with a UK address are just bootlegs

Your best bet if you really want a title not released here is to try to get
a copy either from the country of origin if you can use one without English
titles or from the UK if it has been released there. These would of course
be PAL copies which you CAN NOT transfer but I assume all of you can get
your hands on multi-system players
