RESPONSIBILITIES: The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Libraries seeks an
energetic individual for the position of Head, Media Resources. The incumbent
in this new position serves as a multimedia specialist and fills a key
leadership role within the UNLV Libraries in the planning and development of
media resources and services. Responsibilities include directing the service

program, serves on the Libraries' Research and Information desks (=
selected weekend and evening duty), and may fulfill general c=
development responsibilities and faculty liaison work in a subject area=

Required. ALA accredited degree or international equivalent. Minim=
um of two
years professional information technology and multimedia experience re=
levant to
an academic environment, including a working knowledge of multimedia-=
based web
technologies, such as web design techniques and software, and current=
technology and applications. Awareness of current trends and developmen=
ts in the
use of multimedia resources. Experience integrating multimedia reso=
urces and
production techniques into the delivery of research and information and=
Initiative, flexibility, and excellent communication and interperson=
al skills
and a strong commitment to user-focused service. Ability to work coop=
with diverse staff and patrons. Ability to engage in scholarly pur=
suits and
provide service to the University, the community and the profe=
ssion in
accordance with library and university standards.

Preferred. Supervisory experience. Experience with computer app=
related to graphic design, web authoring and digital video. Dem=
reference and instruction experience, and experience with elect=
ronic and
web-based resources. Advanced degree in a media-related area =
or media
librarianship experience.

SALARY RANGE: This is a tenure-track position. Salary will be n=
according to qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.=
salary is $42,271. Position is contingent upon funding. The Universi=
