The overdue fines are $5.00 per day with no ceiling. Replacement cost is
$175.00 or replacement plus cataloging fee of $25.00. Faculty fines are
normally waivered.
We have circulated video to graduate students for several year since many are
teaching and this year extended the 24 hr. loan privilege to undergraduates.
There are two categories (expensive, over $250.00, or videos on reserve) that do
not circulate except for classroom showings.

Subject: AV fines

Hi All!!
I know that this concern circulated on this list last summer but I
need to see what policies, regarding late videocassette returns by
students, are in place in other academic libraries.
As it stands now, we charge $1.00 per day per title (no grace
period) with no ceiling on the fine. There is some concern that this
may be a bit harsh and a ceiling on AV fines is in order. Any
suggestions?
