DVD Audio

As I understand it, DVD Audio is NOT compatible with standard DVD video
players. However, Warner Music Group is including Dolby Digital 5.1 mixes
on its DVD Audio recordings to ensure compatibility with existing DVD video
players. As of last October, Warner was suggesting a list price of $25 a
title, making them about $10 more than the average CD. Is the extra $10
worth it for a library collection when you probably need an
audiophile-quality stereo to appreciate the improved quality? And of
course, the real audiophiles are still gonna insist that vinyl is the best
choice of all...
