I'd suggest getting on the Voyager-L listserv and asking for opinions.

Also ask about the "short loan" function. We just had our training in
preparation for migration. Our trainer was explained the short loans as a
British version of reserves where a student can request an item for a
specific time of day. We of course wanted to know why such a silly option
was taking up space on the screen. The trainer said it's a way to have
media scheduling type functions, without paying the arm&leg for the media
scheduling module.
And yes, it is possible to barcode equipment and check it out on short loan
also.

Depending on your needs, this might be an option --at no extra cost.
(I'll refrain from commenting on what I thought of the fees they wanted for
the media and interlibrary loan modules.)
