For those film buffs with time on their hand in D.C., visit the
"Freeze Frame : Eadweard Muybridge's Photography of Motion" exhibit
at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. Documentary
Photography Gallery, 3rd floor; Open 10 AM to 5:30 PM Daily; 14th
Street and Constitution Avenue, NW (on the Mall).

"Freeze Frame explores the famous photographs of animal and human
locomotion that Muybridge made at the University of Pennsylvania
between 1884 and 1887. ...The proofs, never before exhibited, were
recently rediscovered and are shown here for the first time....The
recent rediscovery of Muyridge’s working proofs, however, demonstrates
that he freely edited his images to achieve these final results. How
does this change our idea of his photography?"

The exhibit comes down March 15, so see it while it lasts!
