video lock box security

We have been using video lock boxes - Gresco "Kwik Cases" in an attempt to
prevent
theft from our browsing collection.
Problem is, videos are still being stolen.
People have been managing to get them open with a screwdriver,
leaving small scratches on the bottom of the boxes, next to the security tab.
Also cracking the sides of the cases to loosen them, etc.
We've lost about 100 in recent months.
Has anyone had similar problems with lock boxes?
Is there a better product? We looked at similar products from Brodart and
Gaylord
but found Gresco to be more user friendly for circ staff i.e., easier
sliding. Guess they're too
user friendly.
Gresco won't reimburse us for the boxes - we paid $4 per - saying that they
don't guarantee security.
We've been wondering about whether to go with closed stacks, but hate to deny
patrons a browsable collection.
Also, any suggestions on tattle tape placement that might help?
Thanks -
Diane
