Sterling Films did one called "Janis Joplin: Portrait of a Ripoff" but it
was only about 15 minutes or so and was done in the early seventies. It
has interviews with her parents but I don't think Dick Cavett was
involved. Not the one you want, but interesting. There was also a much
longer one rushed into production right after she died called, I think,
"Life and Times of Janis Joplin." As I recall, it was in horrible taste
(editorial comment).
Good luck

<excerpt><smaller>I have had a request for a specific documentary on
Janis Joplin. Brief details provided are: 10-15 years old (maybe older),
approximately 60-75 minutes long, includes interviews with Dick Cavett
and someone at her high school homecoming. Any leads will be
appreciated.
