Dear Lisa,

Bullfrog Films just premiered at the National Media Market a very important
new film on immigration called ABANDONED: THE BETRAYAL OF AMERICA'S
IMMIGRANTS.

This 55-minute film deals with the infamous new (1996) immigration law which
is responsible for a huge amount of unnecessary suffering, as legal
residents find themselves being torn away from their American families and
sent to countries they barely know. The law also causes the INS to house
asylum seekers in county jails (as if they haven't suffered enough!). The
counties in turn make a handsome profit from their incarceration.

This issue is the subject of this week's NPR program, "This American Life"
with Ira Glass.

More information on ABANDONED is available at
http://www.bullfrogfilms.com/catalog/aban.html.

Free previews are available.

Yours,
John Hoskyns-Abrahall

I'd really like to hear your recommendations on titles--fiction and
non--fiction, plus distributors--for the topic of new immigration wave

Thanks so much
