Here's an extreme example of lack of English skills..
Filmakers Library distributes "The Shot Heard Around the World" a documentary
on the shooting of a Japanese student for trespassing by a suburban home
owner when the student failed to understand the command "freeze." Filmakers
Library has other films on immigrant life detailing their difficulties in
this new environment, of which language is one part of the problem. These
are listed under Multicultural Studies on our web site (www.filmakers.com)
and in our catalogue..
