We got rid of our vinyl records in a few big "yard sales" a few years ago,
advertised
around town as well as calling collector we knew. About 2500 of them. At
the end, we had
a collector haul off the remainder, probably about 1000, for I think $100.
They are so heavy,
that transportation and disposal is an issue.
We have used the proceeds to buy CD's.
We did keep a few hard to find lps...the Folkways lps and the old Caedmon
spoken word
lps. We never have collected cassettes, and are assuming that all these
things will at some
time be on CD, but they are not yet. (Some are, though).
