AMK Idee e Comunicazione is proud to present "DISCOVER UNKNOWN ITALY", a
series of 23 documentaries produced by AGI-Agenzia Giornalistica Italia,
available now on videocassettes to universities, libraries and other
institutions.

"Discover Unknown Italy" presents some special itineraries full of surprises
of the hinterland and places unique in the world. A journey of discovery
filled with extraordinary sights, full of fascination and mystery: the
magical Italian landscape between sea and forest, the archaeological sites
and the natural treasures with a suggestive atmosphere of ancient times, the
testimonies of civilisations in the course of the centuries and today’s
life.

GOING FOR ISLANDS: THE TUSCANY ARCHIPELAGO - Directed by Alberto Bader

The Tuscany Archipelago begins at the Argentario Cape, fourteen coastal
miles of sheer limestone cliffs on the Thyrrenian sea. The Orbetello lagoon
has two Natural Reservoirs of great importance: the Feniglia, where
fallow-deer and several species of birds live, and the oasis of the World
Wildlife Fund, with grey herons, flamingos, "garzette" and cormorants. The
Giglio, the small Giannutri and finally Elba Island enclose all the natural
aspects of the Archipelago.

The coast of the Cilento in the south of Campania, is rich with caves. The
remains of "Homo Camerotensis", contemporary of the Neanderthal man, were

medieval castles. Finally the Greek city of Velia, famous for its Eleatic
school, an interesting archaeological site.

The Pollino massif of is an extraordinary mountain group. Pollino Plateau

Gubbio is the one Umbrian city that more than any other has conserved the

medieval villages, the little church of Santa Maria degli Angeli with
frescoes of the 15th and 16th century, the High Argentine Valley famous for

The Camonica Valley begins on the Adamello, where in the warm season red
deers and chamois, protected by the Natural Parks of the Stelvio and the

two hydraulic flour mills, still in use today.

The Natural Park of the Maremma, known also as the Parco dell'Uccellina,
extends from the Granducale Pine Woods along the Tyrrhenian coast to the

well known Maremma cows and horses. Then a canoe trip to the mouth of the

famous Pythagorean school, where today the ancient of Greek tradition of
gold jewellery making lives again thanks to the creations of an artist of
